In the 1940s the foundation of Halabi Real Estate was laid by
with the acquisition of properties on the island of Curaçao for
investment. Private homes and office buildings were purchased
and renovated for rental. Estates and plantation grounds were
also added to the holdings.

In this manner, a substantial real estate portfolio was
formed consisting of properties in Curaçao’s capital city of
Willemstad (Scharloo and Otrobanda), the suburbs
(van Engelen, Santa Rosa, Jongbloed, Saliña) , and vast
plantation grounds in the third district of the island.

In the early seventies building and development activities were increased. The Promenade Shopping Center, still one of the most prestigious shopping centers on the island, was built. Several plantation grounds were parceled out and sold. As a result a number of well-known residential areas were developed: Goede Hoop, Jongbloed, Semikok and Grote Berg.

There are still plantation grounds to be developed in the near future. Project development has become the group’s specialty, with emphasis on the development of land. This specialty also lead to the development of projects for third parties as well as contributions in the development of prestigious projects such as The Marriott Hotel and The World Trade Center Curaçao.

At first, the group was solely engaged in the purchase and sale of its own properties, but gradually became involved in activities for third parties. On a selective basis, Halabi Real Estate now provides services as a real estate broker.
